UofSC Breakthrough Leadership Award
What they told me is that the Breakthrough Leadership in Research Award is to recognize a body of work of senior faculty, but also contributions to a culture of interdisciplinarity and multifaceted collaboration. There aren't usually awards for that.
Then I looked at who got this award over the years. And the other four people who got it this year. Truly excellent company to keep. This is really special, and I appreciate it.
The extra bonus was the team led by Craig Brandhorst who made the award photo of me did a really marvelous job.
