Exodus of the Urbanites

(2011, digital image with accompanying audio)

A narrative of the privileged classes fleeing their cities for the bucolic, as- yet-unspoiled lakes and mountains of their fantasy-vacation spaces. Tarr transformed instrumental audio stems into their graphical spectrograms, then digitally painted and recomposed those visuals into a landscape mural that tells the story. Once the visual composition was completed, this final spectrogram image became the accompanying audio work.

The final image installation is 10 feet wide and 6 inches high, and is available as a framed or unframed print, and as a canvas with embedded electronics to present audio. Please contact to acquire or exhibit.
