Administration

Everyone has a superpower. Mine is that I see in systems.

I almost hate to write that, it sounds very fancy and very LinkedIn. But whether leading collaborations between academic and student affairs, recruiting promising leaders, or directing and growing degree programs, it means the conversations around, say, enrollments are inextricable from the challenges of assessment. Which is intertwined with recruiting. Which is inseparable from communications. And on it goes.

There are probably too many administrators in higher education. This can strain resources and jeopardize the long-term national stability of the system. Which is why I believe that the people who do the work of administration have to be better—leaner, more agile, more unorthodox—than ever.
